Moldavite

The Moldavites are part of the Tectite family, from the Greek " tektos " which translates as " molten ". They were formed about 15 million years ago by theimpact of a meteorite about 1.5km in diameter in the Ries region of Germany. The parent crater is 24km in diameter.

A few fractions of a second after the collision, the heat liquefied the siliceous material of the soil(earth, sand, pebbles) and the speed of the impact propelled it very high into the atmosphere. It then fell back in the form of natural glass "drops" up to 450km east of the Czech Republic, in the Bohemia and Moravia regions. One finds some rare specimens in Germany and Austria.

In lithotherapy one uses Moldavite to facilitate meditation and telepathy. According to the beliefs it helps to develop theintuition and the clairvoyance.
