Lapis lazuli is a metamorphic rock composed of silicates and belonging to the feldspathoid group. It is mainly composed of Lazurite(up to 40%), Calcite, Sodalite and Pyrite. The main deposit is located in Afghanistan but it is also found in Pakistan, Russia and Chile for example.
Known for thousands of years, Lapis Lazuli is used for jewellery, decoration, painting and collecting. In lithotherapy it symbolizes creativity and wisdom. It favoursspiritual elevation, intuition and serenity. In astrology it is associated with the signs of the Sagittaire, the Pisces and the Aquarius.
