The Sapphire is a variety Corindon which holds its name of the Greek «sappheirosthat means "blue color stone" It is composed ofaluminum oxideand dimpurities (Oxides) that determine its color. The shades vary from blue to purple to green, orange yellow, purple or pink. The crystals are sometimes colorless. Some sapphires are heated to improve their color (traditional heating or diffusion treatment).
