Azurite and Malachite are hydrated Copper Carbonates. Azurite is an unstable mineral that can transform into Malachite through oxidation, a process known as pseudomorphosis. Azurite displays a deep royal blue, while Malachite presents a captivating range of green shades. These minerals often form together in copper deposits and oxidation zones. Beautiful Azurite-Malachite specimens are found in Morocco, Australia, and Russia. Historically, Azurite was mainly used as a blue pigment in paintings, while Malachite was used for making jewelry, sculptures, and ornaments. The natural fusion of these two minerals results in a unique and fascinating stone that harmoniously combines their energetic properties.
Associated with the Third Eye Chakra, Azurite is believed to support telepathy, lucid dreaming, and astral travel. It is also thought to aid in healing the etheric body and the Spirit while enhancing creativity and imagination. Azurite symbolizes intuition and meditation.
Malachite has been used for millennia to relieve physical pain, boost energetic defenses, and heal emotional wounds. Associated with the Heart Chakra, Malachite symbolizes health, rebirth, and protection.
To preserve the quality of your Azurite-Malachite, avoid contact with chemicals, including perfumes and cosmetics. Due to its copper content, it should not be exposed to water or humidity for extended periods. Also avoid thermal shock and prolonged exposure to sunlight. To clean it, use a soft, dry cloth or a slightly dampened one if necessary, then be sure to dry it thoroughly.
